Summit Finuas Network are pleased to be able to offer a limited number of free places for jobseekers on network programmes.

From August 2010 onwards, the following categories of unemployed people are eligible to participate in Skillnets & Finuas funded training

Category 1: People on the Live Register

Individuals registered with the Department of Social Protection and in receipt of Job-seekers Allowance (JA) or Job-seekers Benefit (JB).

Category 2: Other Payment Recipients

Individuals in receipt of the following payments are eligible to participate in Skillnets/Finuas training:

  • Disability Allowance
  • Blind Pension
  • Invalidity Pension
  • Illness Benefit 
  • Lone Parents Allowance
  • Farm Assist
  • Back-to-Work Allowance (Scheme closed to new applicants - May 2009)
  • Back-to-Work Enterprise Allowance

Please note that participants on the Community Employment and Jobs Initiative labour market programmes are not eligible to participate in Skillnets or Finuas funded training.

Category 3: People Receiving No Social Welfare Payments

The following individuals who are not in receipt of social welfare payments are eligible to participate in Skillnets/Finuas funded training:

  • Former sole traders and small business owners 
  • Recent graduates who are unemployed 
  • Individuals who don’t qualify for social welfare payment because of their spouse’s income
  • Individuals, including former semi-state employees, signing on for credits but in receipt of no social welfare payment
  • Individuals who have accepted redundancy payments
