Programme Introduction
The aim of the Funds Executive Management Programme is to assist companies with management succession planning by identifying and developing key staff. The programme exposes high potential managers to the most powerful leadership development experiences such as 1:1 coaching, 360° feedback, personality profiling, mentoring and simulated role play.
The programme has been developed and is facilitated by recognised experts and includes the most effective leadership development experiences. The key benefits of the Funds Executive Management Programme include
increased productivity through excellence in management, more accurate succession planning for high potential managers and a focus on real issues faced by Fund Industry managers.
Uniquely, the assessment, training and development of management skills are facilitated and tested in a Funds Industry environment.
Programme Objectives
The Funds Executive Management Programme will consist of two components, beginning with an assessment centre, followed by three one-day training modules.
The assessment centre includes:

Working intensively (ratios of 3:1) with a business psychologist

Experiencing a range of Funds Industry management scenarios using professional corporate role playing

Exposure to top end personality profiling

Demonstration and coaching
-
Integration of outputs from the assessment centre to the candidates workplace through the involvement of the candidates manager and 360° feedback
The three training modules are as follows:
The Core of Leadership module aims to develop:

Visionary thinking and the context for change;

Influencing and engaging staff;

Motivation of self and others;

Networking and political skills;

Persuasive leadership;

Public speaking confidence and courage;

Resilience and ability to handle pressure;

Skills of empathy; and

Insights based on unique case studies of contemporary Irish leaders.
The Management Skills module aims to develop:

Personal effectiveness through emotional management;

Skills for coping with changing demands;

Win-win negotiating skills;

Understanding Funds Industry from a people management perspective; and

Talent management and retention.
The Focus on Achieving Results module aims to develop:

Who should undertake the Funds Executive Management Programme?
This programme suits managers who have been identified within their own organisation as having leadership potential but who need to build self awareness and interpersonal skills before taking on roles of greater responsibility. People who are leading or involved in significant change initiatives will also greatly benefit from this programme.
Programme Structure
Lectures will take place in the in the International Financial Services Centre (IFSC), Dublin. Participants’ managers will be included at key stages to ensure learning is transferred to the workplace.
What are the Entry Requirements?
The Funds Executive Management Programme is for middle to senior managers. A typical candidate would be a fund administration subject expert with a minimum of 3 – 5 years experience, who manages a team of people and has potential to progress to a senior level within the industry within the next 5 years.
To have maximum effect, places on this programme are limited to 18 participants and will be filled on a first come, first served basis.
Programme Leaders
Prof. Patrick Flood
Patrick C. Flood is Professor of Organisational Behaviour, Head of the HRM-Organisational Psychology Group and a Deputy Director of the Learning Innovation and Knowledge (LInK) Research Centre at DCU. He is a PhD graduate of the London School of Economics and his Master's degree in Business is from University College, Dublin. An alumnus of the International Teachers Programme (ITP-LBS 98) he has extensive executive education experience. In 2006, he was appointed Honorary Professor of Management at North Eastern University, China. He has held Fulbright, EU and British Council fellowship awards. Patrick has held numerous faculty appointments including London Business School, Australian Graduate School of Business, University of Limerick, University of Maryland and the Irish Management Institute. He has published numerous books including Leadership in Ireland (Blackhall, 2010) and Persuasive Leadership: Lessons from the Arts (Wiley, 2010). He has also published some three dozen articles on leadership, teams and change management in leading international journals.

John Loughran
John Loughran is the founder of People in Mind, specialising in leadership. He has extensive experience in coaching, motivation, team building and developing people leadership strategies. He has distinct expertise in supporting leaders in the professional services environment at the most senior levels. John is closely affiliated with the Psychological Society of Ireland, the CIPD, DCU Centre for Executive Programmes and is a founding member of the Center for Positive Psychology.
